MORMONS GET MARRIED WHERE!?!

Mormons get married in temples.
We believe that temples are houses of the lord.
We believe people can be sealed together forever.
When a spouse dies they are only separated through the rest of their mortal journey.
They are then reunited as spirits, and later receive perfected bodies.
It is not a marriage under the law,
it is a union under God.
Families really can be together forever.

Preparing for marriage is so important when you are planning on being together for an eternity.
Conversations need to be had.
Time to experience each other is important,
There are a lot of changes that happen in a persons life when they get married.
Many decisions need to be made,
and it is important to make a lot of them before you are married.

Boy, Girl, and Twin Talk

I have a twin brother.
I am not sure you could find two more opposite twins.
We have different religious beliefs,
different taste in movies,
we like different foods,
and most obvious we are different genders.
My brother was able to go to movies by himself before me.
I was so mad, you have no idea.
It was not the most safe place to be, but I was tough.
If he could I could!
To this day I have never gone to the movies by myself.
We always competed.
Our parents both had very different expectations for us.
This bothered me for a long time.
I thought that there should be no difference between us,
but the truth is there was.
Men and women are different,
not just physically but mentally.
This is not a bad thing.
That is not to say that women cannot be in the military or men can't be pastry chefs.
Men and women are made differently so they could be more compatible.
Me and my brother are different, but that is what makes us who we are.

Friends, Culture, Boundries, and Dirt Roads

Here is another picture of me and my roommates from last semester.
This week in class we talked about boundaries and culture.
Every person has a different family culture with different traditions.
Every Christmas I do the same thing.
I go to my dad's house Christmas eve and open pajamas that night.
Then I open gifts Christmas morning.
I then go to my mom's house and open gifts there.
We all get ready and head to my grandparent's house for Christmas dinner.
Finally we open gifts there.
Basically it is great because I keep opening gifts.
Some people would hate this though.
Maybe your family is all together and you host Christmas at your house.
To think of going to so many different houses would drive you nuts.
Maybe you read the story of Christs birth every Christmas Eve night.
If you came to my house where we did not do that you may think we are heathens.
EVERY ONE IS
D I F F E R E N T !
We should be respectful of other people's cultures and traditions,
while enjoying our own.
 We also talked about boundaries.
My family is pretty broken apart.
There are lots of subsections of step families, cousins, and grandparents.
I am much closer with my step cousins than my biological ones.
This was caused by distance.
Every year my step family comes over for a Christmas hang out.
They all live in California which allows them to visit often.
My cousins live in Colorado so I have only seen them in person 2 times.
We have different boundaries.
Boundaries seem to me like fences.
Some are made of wood and are only as tall as your waste.
There is a separation but it is easy to talk over.
Some people even leave the gate open!
Some are chain link fence with barbed wire.
Come on over, but you might get hurt in the process.
Or maybe there is a sassy dog chilling outside.
And some are brick walls guarded with armed guards.
I think I have some of all of these and I am sure you do as well.
This is the top of the Rexburg Idaho temple.
I love this temple!
I am a member of the
We believe in temples just like in the Old Testament.
We believe that families can be together
F O R E V E R
When you die you can see all of your family who has passed before you.
When we get married it is for eternity!
That is kind of a long time.
If you are interested please follow the links!
Also feel free to comment!

Finally Me and my friends were going to go to a bonfire last night.
We had to drive down an Idaho dirt road through a field to get to this place.
You haven't lived until you have driven a Toyota Carola down a dirt road.
We turned around and didn't go to the bonfire.

Fall, Loneliness, Links

It is finally Fall!!!!! Sweaters, hot chocolate, pumpkins, cinnamon, and leaves.
I love fall, it is my favorite time of year.
I love the atmosphere of everything.
Walks in the brisk cloudy weather may sound lame to some but it is literally my favorite.
Fun fact about me even when it is summer in California I have a vitamin D deficiency.
This means that my mood can go down hill during the fall and winter months.
I often start to feel lonely.
Part of this weeks reading for my class talked about loneliness.
I have full faith that all of us at one time or another have felt lonely.
I know that I have.
We are social creatures.
I may not have many friends but I have close ones and would not like to loose them.
I feed off of people.
Sometimes I feel lonely even when I am in a crowded room.
How can this be?
Being lonely I believe is an emotional and physical problem.
We can be physically alone, as I write this I am alone in my room.
We can feel emotionally alone.
So how can you overcome loneliness.
One way I have overcame my loneliness is through God.
Not everyone who reads this will be religious and that is okay.
Again this is all just my opinion.
With God I can feel loved and have hope.
Even with God I sometimes feel lonely though.
Another way I have overcome feeling lonely is by looking up people on youtube.
I may not talk to them directly but I can see them living there lives and be apart of it.
Some people hate youtube though.
One final way is simply contacting someone.
Text an old friend, call a family member, and if you really are feeling lonely maybe even talk to a counciler or therepist.
Loneliness is a thing we all exsperience, but you are never truely alone.
If you are ever struggling feel free to leave a comment.
I would love to hear from you.
If you or some one you know is feeling suicidal or exseriencing those thoughts due to loneliness please go to
America
Canada
UK

If you are reading from a country not listed please comment and I will add websites for those countries.

An Introduction is in Order

These are my Roommates.
I am a college student who is hopefully on my way to graduation in July of 2016.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
AKA I'm a Mormon.
I have been a member of the Mormon church for a little over three and a half years.
I am not married, I have no children, and the only experience I have with them is when I worked in a daycare at a gym for two months, and with my twin nieces who are three.
I have never had to stay awake with a crying baby.
I have never had to take a child to a doctors apointment to get shots.
I did however have the great opportunity of cleaning a childs vomit up off a slide.
He had Italian.
My parents are divorced and have each been married to more than one person.
They divorced when I was six so it was just how growing up was for me.
I tell you all of this to inform you that I have little to no exsperience with families other than what is listed above.
I do not profess to know everything, or even anything.
I do however have an opinion I would like to share.
I know what I want in a family.
I study Families and Marriages.
I read articles about pornography addiction, and gay marriage, and fatherlessness, and how to make a good pot roast, and what to do for Family Home Evening
I have read, but not exsperienced.
We have all got to start somewhere though,
and maybe my humble opinion will be able to toutch your life.
Maybe my college level brain will help you see something you hadn't before.
Maybe I will just give you a good laugh.
Please stick around for family blogs, and college blogs, and roommate blogs, and political blogs, and maybe the occasional recepie.
